Secrets

It's delightfully simple. Children follow a predictable sequence of steps in their growth and development.

If you understand those steps, you can take an active role in your child's early learning and do a lot to insure their success in school - and you will both enjoy your shared experiences.

If you don't understand, or if you expect more than your child is capable of at any point in his or her development, you will both be frustrated and unhappy.

These pages contain a parent-friendly guide to early childhood development.

  • The Sequence of Skills Development describes the stages your child will go through and suggests activities that will reinforce existing skills and lay the appropriate foundations for the next level of ability.

  • Online Activities is a collection of playful pages for you to share with your child. From colorful frogs to silly clowns to giant rutabagas, you'll have a lot to see, do, and discuss.

  • Additional Resources include more about learning, lists of the best in children's books, and other helpful information.
