It looks like LGB* is not currently offering these tiny individual wine barrel cars, although there may be quite a few left at different train shops. They do make a two-axle flat car with two barrels mounted end to end. This is number 45230 and costs $86.95 on the Trainworld web site (September, 2005).
LGB recently made a long four-axle flat car that carries three of these barrels mounted side-by-side. The model number is 41693. I presume the barrel is the same size as on 40470. Trainworld offers this car at a closeout price of $39.99 (September, 2005). Some stores have or can locate used equipment.
Here are four stores that advertise in Garden Railways Magazine. A directory of dozens of stores can be found toward the back of each issue. Some prices shown were taken from the October, 2000 issue, so expect to pay more if you can find the cars at all. Some prices were from their web sites as of late September, 2005.
I've ordered from Trainworld on several occasions and have been satisfied with their service. More recently, I've shopped at and ordered from Watts Train Shop. The folks at Watts are extremely friendly and helpful. We have no experience with the other stores. Pick up a copy of Garden Railways, Model Railroader, Classic Toy Trains or other modelling publications to find the names and addresses of shops near you that carry LGB products.
