This story tells how Joe and Sam caught the striped and spotted purple pigmoose before he could make a mess of the whole town.
On the first day of spring, when the tulips were blooming, a striped and spotted purple pigmoose stepped out of the woods.
It was only morning, but he was ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and he wanted all three right away. So he began by eating all of the flowers.
The flowers were tasty but the striped and spotted pigmoose was still hungry. So he trotted toward town to find more food.
He looked for scraps in a garbage can which scared the farmer's chickens. Then he started pulling flowers off of a cherry tree with his long pink tongue.
The farmer went into his house and called the Pigmoose Patrol. "There's a pigmoose in my yard," he said. "Please come over right way!"
Sam said, "Joe and I will come right over." "Don't worry. We'll catch that pigmoose."
Then Sam said, "Hot dog! We have a customer. Let's go!"
Joe and Sam hurried to the farmer's farm. Joe said, "I wonder what kind of mess that pigmoose has made."
Oh, my! The pigmoose has made a very big mess.
He knocked over the barbecue grill and started a fire, and he knocked over the windmill, and now he is hiding in the barn!
A fireman came to put the fire out.

"I think the pigmoose is hiding in the barn," said Sam.
"Me, too," said Joe. "I wonder how we can catch him."
"He seems to be very hungry," said the farmer.

"I have an idea," said Joe. "Let's put something out here that he will want to lick. The pigmoose will come out and we will catch him."
"I'll get some ice cream," said the farmer.
Striped and spotted pigmooses are pretty smart and this one heard Joe's idea. But Joe and Sam are smart, too, and they made a secret plan.
While the farmer put down a bowl of chocolate ice cream with candy sprinkles on top, the pigmoose slipped out a side door and backed away from the barn.
Joe and Sam were ready. Sam offered the pigmoose a marshmallow and Joe scooped him and carried him off to a nice safe place to live.
At the zoo, zookeepers would feed the pigmoose every day and keep him out of trouble.
But... striped and spotted purple pigmooses do seem to get into trouble, wherever they are.
Of course, there may be more than one....
Striped and Spotted Purple Pigmoose.
And if there is...
...Joe and Sam's Pigmoose Patrol will be ready!
The End (For now).
